Carbon neutral

Last year, CTG Brasil neutralized 100% of direct emissions from its operations, through the purchase of Verified Carbon Units (VCU), granted by REDD + JARI AMAPÁ Project, that carries out activities for the sustainable use of the Amazon rainforest in an area of 220 thousand hectares.

It is the second emissions inventory for 100% of the operation, published in 2020 referring to the performance of 2019, which received the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program’s Gold Seal, attesting to the external verification of the data verified and disclosed by the company.

The results obtained by CTG Brasil show a 2% reduction in total emissions in the consolidated view. For the future, one of the challenges is to assess the results obtained by the inventories and outline more comprehensive and long-term strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of the activities.
