To strengthen the management model, CTG Brasil’s teams worked in 2020 to develop a systematic methodology for assessing environmental prevention within the plants.

The result of this effort was the structuring of the preventive environment index, which will be calculated from 2021 onwards in all operations.

The approach for a continuous monitoring of environmental risks with an agile and effective action to mitigate impacts is in line with the requirements of ISO 14001, an environmental management standard in which ten hydropower plants and two small hydropower plants of CTG Brasil were certified in 2020. This certification effort, in fact, was one of the main factors for the increase in environmental investments by 34% in the year, totaling R$ 22.9 million in the period.
