OBZ: planning
the annual
budget

STRATEGY & MARKET
In 2020, CTG Brasil implemented the Zero-Base Budget (OBZ) methodology in the construction of the budget cycle for 2021.

Considered the best market practice for the elaboration of cost and expense budgets, this methodology provokes the whole company to think about the expenses really necessary for each operational activity in an innovative way, ignoring the spending history in previous years and starting from “zero” for budget planning.

The implementation of the OBZ allowed a budget forecast for 2021 in the costs of materials, services and others about 20% lower than the budget of the previous year.

These cost efficiency gains were added to the assertiveness of the commercialization strategy, resulting in a 33% growth in net income in the period. The company's net revenue surpassed the R$ 5 billion mark in the last year, driven by the results in the Short-Term Market (MCP) and by the increase in revenue from quotas of Rio Paraná.
