CTG Brasil acted to help society to face Covid-19. In March, the company donated 50,000 chemical and biological protective coveralls to China. Three months later, in June, it intermediated and represented CTG Corporation in the donation of hospital equipment to the state government of São Paulo, in the total amount of R$ 7.5 million (€ 1.3 million).

In addition to these initiatives, the company developed, in partnership with Senai, research and development projects applied to combat Covid-19. The first involved the production of 18 thousand liters of 70% GL gel and liquid alcohol, with part of the production used in the operations of the Ilha Solteira and Jupiá hydropower power plants and another portion donated to hospitals in the vicinity of these operations.

The second included the development of rapid tests for serological diagnosis of the disease, with an investment of R$ 2 million and a monthly production capacity of 300 thousand tests at the end of the project, part of which was donated to Santa Casa de Ourinhos (SP). The latter, still in progress, intends to identify an effective protocol to use ozonized water – an easy-to-obtain, inexpensive input and less aggressive to human skin – in disinfection tunnels.
