CTG Brasil renews ISO certifications

04.10.2023

CTG Brasil, one of the leaders in clean energy generation in the country, obtained recertification of the standards “ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)”, “ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System”), “ISO 45001 (Management System) Occupational Health and Safety”) and “ISO 55001 (Asset Management and Management System”), which reinforce, once again, the company’s position as a reference in market practices and certification of energy generation projects in Brazil.

The recertifications, audited by the Vanzolini Foundation, cover the 12 hydropower plants and two small hydropower plants managed by the company on the Paranapanema, Paraná, Verde, Canoas and Sapucaí-Mirim rivers.

“At CTG Brasil, ISO certifications go far beyond being in compliance with international standards, they reflect the company’s commitment to the continuous improvement of its processes, with more efficiency in our processes. As a consequence, they allow the company to organize itself better internally, with productivity gains and better governance, becoming increasingly competitive in the market”, details Natasha Durazzo Balassanian, Director of Internal Audit, Compliance, Risks, Internal Controls and Quality CTG Brasil.

In 2023, the company’s scope was unified, which previously was for plants and sales. Now, operations are audited in a single scope that covers the entire CTG Brasil, involving the areas of Operation, Maintenance, Administration and Energy Trading. From the beginning of the year until September, 3,423 actions were carried out, in addition to 265 processes evaluated in RoadMap and internal and external audits, involving 341 employees in 1,524 hours worked.

Quality activities began in January, with the assessment of areas called RoadMap, then internal audits and audits of legal requirements took place, and, finally, external audits to verify processes. In parallel, important steps were carried out, such as improvement management (actions), documents, process indicators and process management (design and review of process maps).

“We maintain our focus on the path of ‘Excellence in everything’ and on strengthening our management model. Our company continues to be a reference in the energy sector, and also a benchmark for other companies, as it is one of the first generators in Brazil to receive and maintain this set of ISO certifications in an integrated manner”, says Jacques Vigato, Risk, Internal Controls and Quality from CTG Brasil.
