Initiative aims to support projects that promote human development and income generation in the communities and regions where the company operates
CTG Brasil, one of the leaders in clean energy generation in Brazil, is launching its 5th Call for Incentivized Resources for Local Development. The goal is to financially support projects that contribute to human development and income generation for the populations living in the communities surrounding the company’s operations. Social, cultural and sports organizations will be able to submit their proposals until August 31.
In addition to focusing on the specific objectives of each registered segment, the projects must also contribute to improving the economic, social and environmental conditions of local communities. “One of our greatest commitments is to support initiatives that promote transformation and cause a positive sociocultural impact in the regions where we operate, reaffirming our commitment to the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The Call for Incentivized Resources is one of the tools we use for this purpose. This program has grown continuously, strengthening local communities, which fills us with optimism for this 5th call for proposals,” says Ronan Max Prochnow, Sustainability & ESG Manager at CTG Brasil.
Last year, investments made by CTG Brasil through Tax Incentive Laws totaled approximately R$17 million, benefiting more than 118,000 people in 136 municipalities. In 2023, 129 projects were registered, 37 of which were pre-approved and 16 approved, eight through the Rouanet Law; five through the law supporting the rights of children and adolescents; two through the law supporting the rights of the elderly; and one related to the sports law. Applications for this year’s proposals must be submitted through the website https://editalsociocultural.ctgbr.com.br/ and will take place from July 29 to August 31. In total, the call for proposals will be directed to more than 130 Brazilian cities, including municipalities in Paraíba and Minas Gerais, which are receiving new renewable energy projects from the company. The full list of cities can be found on the same link for applications.
The projects covered by the call for proposals must promote human development, in addition to seeking to provide access and opportunities for income generation in the places where the company is present, through cultural and educational actions in sports, among other strategies for social inclusion.
Duly regularized organizations may participate in the process, whether they are Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), private law, non-profit; for-profit organizations (private companies) exclusively for projects approved via the Culture Incentive Law, the Oncology Care Support Program and the Support for Care for People with Disabilities) and Child and Adolescent Rights Councils and Elderly Rights Councils, or Public Organizations implementing projects approved by the respective Councils (exclusively for projects approved within the scope of the Children and Adolescent Rights Funds and Elderly Rights Funds). All projects must be duly approved by November 30, 2024.
This year, initiatives approved by the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives (Law 8,313/1991), the Federal Law for Sports Incentives (Law 11,438/2006), the Children’s and Adolescents’ Rights Funds (Law 8,069/1990), the Elderly Rights Funds (Law 12,213/2010), the National Program for Supporting Oncology Care (PRONON) (Law 12,715/2012) and the National Program for Supporting Healthcare for People with Disabilities (PRONAS/PCD) (Law 12,715/2012) will be selected, according to the opportunities provided for in each tax incentive mechanism.
