CTG Brasil, one of the leaders in clean energy generation in the country, released today the release of 50,000 fishes of the curimbatá and pacu species, in the reservoir of the Capivara plant, operated by the company on the Paranapanema river. The release took place in the spa in the municipality of Sertaneja (PR).

With this action, CTG Brasil reached the historic mark of 1.65 million fish released in the Paranapanema River in 2022.

The releases are part of the Ichthyofauna Management and Conservation Program, carried out by CTG Brasil with the objective of repopulating and guaranteeing diversity of fish through the production and release of native species, and are authorized by the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA). The action is carried out by professionals from the company’s environmental area, in partnership with the City Halls.

The fish are produced at the CTG Brasil Fish Farm in Salto Grande (SP). In the laboratory, in addition to fish production, research is carried out in partnership with universities. Since 2016, when the company took over the management of the Program, more than 21 million fish have been released in the basins of the Paraná and Paranapanema rivers.

“In addition to the studies that we develop in partnership with universities, which generate a great positive impact on the environment, promoting the release of native species is a way of collaborating with the development of these ecosystems, guaranteeing reproduction and fish stocks”, he explains. the person responsible for the program, Norberto Castro Vianna, specialist in the Environment at CTG Brasil.
