Largest and most important in Brazil

Efficiency, reliability and availability. These are the main objectives of our project to modernize the Jupiá and Ilha Solteira HPPs, the largest and most complex of this nature ongoing in the country.

We brought together hundreds of professionals and partners in the total renovation of 34 generating units of these operations, both with half a century of contribution to the National Interconnected System (SIN).

A project of this complexity requires the involvement and participation of different areas of CTG Brasil and has been fundamental for the cultural and technical knowledge exchange between Brazilian and Chinese professionals. There are thousands of kilometers that geographically separate the two nations, but they were closer and more united than ever to lead the largest project for the modernization of hydropower plants in the country.

New operations center

As part of this process, we have just implemented our new Operations Center. Ilha Solteira is responsible for coordinating our entire generating complex, with real-time operation of the hydropower plants and small hydropower plants under our concession, totaling seventy generating units. The new automation and remote control equipment guarantee more efficiency, safety and productivity to operational processes.

Investments in the entire generation complex

Other relevant investments in our hydropower plants promote the periodic updating of the equipment and applied technologies, totaling R$ 20.9 million invested annually. Among them, the projects for the replacement of transformers and equipment at the Rosana, Taquaruçu, Garibaldi and Salto HPPs deserve to be highlighted.
