China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) is a clean energy group focused on large-scale hydropower development and operation. CTG is also engaged in renewable energy businesses including wind and solar power.
Present in more than 40 countries, CTG is the world´s largest producer of hydroelectric power with an installed capacity of about 124 GW, both under operation and construction.
In 2017, CTG produced 284.57 TWh of electricity, operating revenues of 90 billion RMB and net income of 3.3 billion RMB.
CTG began its history as the company responsible for building and operating the world´s largest hydropower plant: the Three Gorges and other large plants in the Yangtze River, China.

Timeline





2011
The Company starts to develop solar energy in China. It acquires a 21.35% stake at EDP - Energias de Portugal, for €2.69 billion and establishes partnership with FURNAS Centrais Elétricas S.A.

2013
It establishes a strategic partnership with Energias do Brasil in order to invest in the country's energy market and establishes investment platform of CTG Group in latin America - CTG Br.

2014
The Company acquires, from EDP Br, 50% of Santo Antônio do Jari hydroelectric plant (AP), 50% of Cachoeira Caldeirão hydroelectric plant (AP) and 33.3% of São Manoel hydroelectric plant (MT).

2015
Acquisition of 49% of 11 wind farms located in the South and in Rio Grande do Norte from EDP Renováveis. Acquisition of 100% of the Salto (GO) and Garibaldi (SC) plants and the TNE - Triunfo Negócios de Energia from Triunfo Participações.

2016
Signature of the concession agreement for the operation of Jupiá and Ilha Solteira hydropower plants.
