CTG Brasil has just announced Márcio José Peres as O&M Director of the Paranapanema and Sapucaí-Mirim HPPs. Peres holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) and an MBA degree in Business Management from IBMEC Business School, with solid knowledge in the development of hydroelectric projects, construction and operation. The executive also has training in leadership and people management from Florida Christian University, Fundação Dom Cabral, as well as an international course by INSEAD.
With 30 years of experience in the electricity sector, Márcio Peres previously held the position of statutory director of wholly owned subsidiaries of Cemig’s Generation. In the state of Minas Gerais, the executive held several leadership positions and was a full member of the board of directors of special-purpose entities UHE Itaocara SA and Guanhães Energia SA, as well as a full member of the board of directors of holding Cemig.

The company has long-term planning here in Brazil, which includes modernization projects with the aim of having even more efficient operations. I will be directly involved in these projects and I am happy to be part of this process from now on with a team committed to bringing gains to the Brazilian electric sector, ” Márcio Peres said.
According to Evandro Vasconcelos, Vice-President of Generation and Commercialization of CTG Brasil, the arrival of Márcio Peres to the team of O&M will allow the company to advance with even more agility in its projects in Brazil. “Thinking about the area of activity of Márcio, we have recently completed the modernization of the Capivara HPP, and we plan to start Rosana’s project soon. Márcio, with all his experience, is sure to help us carry out this project and other projects successfully. “
